Who we are
viewAfrica.com is an African-based organization founded in 2000 by a team of dedicated professionals with a goal of helping African communities, hospitals and schools with their Information Technology (IT) needs. One of the identified areas of need was the establishment of an infrastructure to support but NOT limited to FREE web hosting, Internet search Engine for African information, online library resources, and website development services for all schools and hospitals in Africa.
In addition, another area of need is the introduction of Computer Training centers and computer educational programs aimed at teaching basic computer skills in the rural and urban communities in Africa. .

Why we exist
Due to rising and inflated Internet programming, web hosting and development costs, numerous research publications have projected that a very limited number of African schools and hospitals will be in a position to afford having Internet access, informational websites and access to basic computer training. Considering this view, and realizing the importance of the Internet and Computers in this ever-increasing global economy, the team at viewAfrica.com embarked on a mission of providing FREE Internet/web development, website hosting and computer training sessions to all registered schools and hospitals throught Africa.

Despite the growing relevance of Computers, related services and Internet access in education and commerce, to date, over 98% of all schools and hospitals in Africa currently do not have access to computers, Internet or hosting websites. This has been as a result of several factors hindering the introduction and use of computers and Internet access in African schools and hospitals from actively participating in this phenomenon. Such factors include:

• Extremely expensive and inaccessible Information Technology services as well as web-hosting infrastructure.
• Poor or non-existent telecommunication infrastructure such as telephone lines and Internet Service Providers (ISP), have made communication difficult for both educational and healthcare sectors. This limitation has served as a challenge in exchanging or sharing knowledge across boundaries.

With the goal of aiding African schools and hospitals, viewAfrica.com will provide all the necessary services and infrastructure needed to alleviate these bottlenecks..

OUR SERVICES:
The need for Internet access, effective computer training and education cannot be understated. African Communities, Schools and Hospitals are in desperate need of Information Technology services to improve on their efficiency and knowledge base. The role of computers and Information Technology in general has become a fundamental means of communication, research and education worldwide. With the majority of African schools and hospitals lacking access to the basic computer services, the gap is widening and help is desperately needed to introduce the basic computer and IT services in the remotes areas of Africa.

The Information Technology requirements for the African communities are overwhelming.
